David’s Shoes is a nonprofit organization born out of the death of David Lane II. At the age of 18, he was killed by a young man of only 17 years of age. This nonprofit is dedicated to encouraging teens and children to honor life. We visit schools, churches and any other youth related audiences to share the story of David’s untimely death and encourage them to honor their lives. The culmination of each presentation involves students taking the Honor Life Pledge. Reducing violence among our youth begins by providing a vehicle for them to discover their brilliance, beauty, and self-worth. When they recognize their self-worth, they will be able to recognize the value of all life. This is the method we choose to use to reduce violence in our communities.
